Albuquerque International Fiesta completes 50th year with ascension

Albuquerque, NM – Nine full days of a variety of balloons combined each day from the registered 650 balloons on the field for lifting off starting on day one. After Dawn Patrol did the burn and lift-off took place the sky was filled with hundreds of balloons that included special shapes.  As the week went forward weather created a few challenges a couple of mornings keeping the yellow flag not being upgraded to green for lift-off. One day was devoted for a kid’s day with thousands of children starting early in the morning and staying until the night finale.

Competition took place with teams driving off the field to lift off and head into the main field to toss and hit a target.  As evenings closed the balloons did a static-glow that immersed the sky with an amazing site of designs and colors/sounds.  The close of the days were completed with drone light show and fireworks.
