2021 Fall Pheasant update

Checking in to report on my weekend hunt in Mott, ND.  It appears conditions are similar to what we had expected.  Very warm weather still with very little good hunting cover.  I will say we saw some birds but getting close to them was very difficult.  We did have some luck with the poster’s getting a few birds, fortunately not missing too many opportunities as I noted in my last article, getting out with friends and family was really the best part of the hunt.

Heading to McCollum’s Hunting Preserve in Bejou, MN this month; at least birds will be guaranteed.  Hoping my shooting will live up to my expectations given the lack of shots taken in Mott.  McCollum’s Hunting Preserve has 12,000 acres of pheasant habitat along with a relaxing lodge and meals available.  We have had very good luck with them in past, I see no reason this year will be any different.  They are very busy and birds in high demand this year; if planning a hunt be prepared to take what’s available.  Looking forward to a great hunt and will update when I return.
